On July 25, the Center for Environmental Monitoring and Information (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) said that the first automatic water monitoring station will be installed in Day river area.

This river water monitoring station will update 24 hours a day about water parameters through the measuring system, about 10-15 minutes to inform the center once. The device will be placed under water, the probe will reflect some parameters of solubility, conductivity, oxygen . When the parameters change abruptly, professional staff will come immediately to determine the level degree and cause of pollution to get timely treatment.

According to Mr. Hoang Duong Tung, Director of the Center for Environmental Monitoring and Information, this automatic water monitoring station will help managers respond faster and more timely to sudden changes in the water environment .

An example to see the determination of water pollution in the past is still a lot of difficulties, such as the phenomenon of dead fish floating in Binh Duong, but when the new management agency came down two days later, the fish died. It is only possible to "diagnose" the wastewater from this factory, the other upstream plant without accurate information.

At present, the Center for Environmental Monitoring and Information is in the process of preparing a number of steps such as: installing anti-theft cages (because of automatic water meters worth billions of dong, located in the place where there are no buttocks); find appropriate places and contact the relevant industries (river management, bridge management) to coordinate the operation of the machine effectively.

It is expected that the automatic water meter will be placed under the bridge at the river section of Phu Ly junction, the sensitive location can measure water pollution, because this is a place where the river branches are intertwined. This is also the part of the river where Ha Nam is "complaining" about the pollution caused by waste water discharged from industrial parks, because this locality uses water from it to filter and supply water for daily life and irrigation.

At present, the Center for Environmental Monitoring and Information is also working out plans to install some automatic water observation stations from now to the end of the year in the northern mountainous region (Lao Cai) and the South (An Giang). ) - where there are river water sources related to border factors.

Mr. Hoang Duong Tung also said that according to the Prime Minister's Decision on the planning of national environmental resource monitoring network, all major cities (about 20 cities) will soon install monitoring stations.
