Internet theater stage on MySpace
News Corp said the "Prom Queen" Internet play will begin playing on its popular social networking site MySpace from April 1.
The performance contract will provide an opportunity for the Internet play to be performed by young actors who have access to a large number of readers in a relatively simple way. This is also the way an author named Lonelygirl15 won and won the first YouTube Video Award.
"Prom Queen" is the product of a new studio founded by former Walt Disney executive Michael Eisner. The play consists of a total of 80 episodes, each with a duration of 90 seconds.
Each episode of the play will appear on MySpace for about 12 hours before being allowed to appear on other websites, including its own production website.
The financial terms of the News Corps agreement with the manufacturer have yet to be disclosed.
Each actor participating in the play will also have a profile of his own on MySpace. Fans can send messages and get answers directly from actors. MySpace users are also allowed to post plays on their own profile pages.
