Introducing bio-chip production technology in Vietnam

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Van Lang said that in recent years, the world as well as Vietnam have witnessed a boom in chip technology. In particular, Bio chip is a very important technology in diagnosing dangerous diseases or other diseases that old methods cannot handle.

Bio chip technology was present in Vietnam about 10 years ago. The Ministry of Science and Technology has approached and introduced technologies of some countries in the world to Vietnam and worked closely with the Ministry of Health, some sectors to organize seminars to introduce and experiment. assessing the level of improvement, technology level, proceeding to research and develop production in Vietnam.

'We devote the research areas of the High-Tech Park in Vietnam and the technology parks for the organization of the production of these products and equipment for domestic and export purposes, " said Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Lang. .

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Lang emphasized: 'The Prime Minister has approved the list of national products and in which Bio chip is one of the priority national products. Therefore, continuing to research, access and import the world's technologies, proceed to decode, research and develop in Vietnam, even create patents, inventions and proprietary solutions in the field. This area is being encouraged ".

Biological chips include gene chips, protein chips, cell chips, tissue chips . in which microarray chip (micro-reaction range) is a popular type and has been widely used in the market. Microarray chips are widely used in diagnosis, new drug development, agriculture, food testing . and will create many future applications.

Currently, Bio chip technology has been used quite a lot in Vietnam, in hospitals, even in district hospitals. Some diseases such as cancer, myocardial infarction, DNA testing have been carried out for about 3 to 4 years in major hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi. Bio chip technology helps quickly diagnose cancer, gastrointestinal diseases, blood and tuberculosis.
