Super first NAND Flash memory chip 40nm technology!
Samsung Electronics has announced the successful production of a new NAND Flash memory chip that can store 36,000 high-resolution photos or 40 digital movies.
The manufacturer said it is a 32-gigabit NAND Flash memory chip that uses the world's first 40-nanometer (nm) processing technology. Samsung said the new technology will increase the life time of NAND Flash memory chips.
Mr. Hwang Chang Gyu - Chairman of Samsung Electronics said that the advanced technology used in making this NAND chip will provide better control for data storage devices. Not only that, it also helps consumer equipment manufacturers to further reduce their products.
Last year, Samsung Electronics launched the 16-gigabit NAND Flash memory chip, which uses 50-nanometer processing technology.
NAND Flash is the most commonly used storage device in consumer electronics products such as digital cameras, MP3 players or some other multimedia devices.
