Launched the first 40nm technology graphics memory

Hynix has introduced the GDDR5 2Gb graphics memory it claims is the first memory to use 40nm technology for computers and gaming devices.

This type of memory chip operates at 7Gbps and speeds up to 28GB / s with 32-bit I / O communication.

The GDDR5 2Gb is designed to minimize power consumption with an operating voltage of 1.35V.

This is said to be an 'eco-friendly' product when it reduces power consumption by 20% compared to previous memory solutions using Hynix's 50nm technology.

Digitimes said it plans to mass-produce 2Gb GDDR5 memory chips in the second half of 2010./.
