Iomega built an ultra-small external hard disk
Storage product manufacturer Iomega has announced a Micro Mini hard disk that is smaller than a credit card, supports USB 2.0 computer ports, has 4GB and 8GB capacities and sells for $ 129.95 and 169.95 USD.
Iomega discs weigh less than 50 grams, smaller than a credit card. The hard disk has a rotation speed of 4200 revolutions per minute, protected by impact-resistant technology and has a foldable USB connector that helps to reduce individual USB wires. The power of the external hard disk is taken directly from the USB port on the computer.
According to Brian Still, who is in charge of product marketing, the new Iomega Micro Mini disc promises to be more portable and more convenient for portable storage devices.
Micro Mini hard disks are smaller than all external hard disks today, offering better capabilities and cheaper prices than every gigabyte on a Flash memory card. It will install selected software and troubleshooting recovery storage capabilities.
