At the Forum, experts discussed the advantages and outstanding issues when piloting IPTV services in some major provinces and cities since April 2007. These pilot results will be used as a basis to promote the official provision of this service in Vietnam.

Besides, the speakers also participated in discussing issues related to content, advertising on IPTV, security and quality assurance of services on the Internet environment in Vietnam. " Quality is the first key to IPTV development, " said Bui Thien Minh, Deputy General Director of VNPT Group at the forum. " In particular, transmission bandwidth is a big challenge. When there are effective solutions, the deployment will be successful ." Currently, VNPT Group accounts for 47% of market share compared to other Internet service providers (ISPs). This is one of the favorable conditions for VNPT to bring Internet TV to the majority of viewers.

According to analysts of ZTE, now a partner of VNPT in deploying IPTV, this service will become more popular and will change traditional TV viewing habits. IPTV is not only a service, but also an industry that includes a complete value chain, providing great opportunities for Vietnamese telecom operators, for content providers (CP). and service providers (SP).
