Italy: Making paper from apples

Apples are not just for eating but can now be made into stationery. Italian inventor Alberto Volcan created a paper made from apples and through regional funds, developed the paper into other office products.

The governor of the Alto Adige region, where Volcan worked, said that the office products would increase the area's attention as well as the apple industry in the region.

'This recycling will have a significant impact on industry and the environment.' said Governor Luis Durnwalder.

Alto Adige is currently the largest apple producing region in Europe and offers the region's natural products to distributors both in and out of the country.
