iTunes is not yet fully compatible with Vista
Apple has just released a new technical support document that confirms that iTunes will be fully compatible with Microsoft's latest operating system - Windows Vista as soon as possible.
This document confirms that the latest version 7.1.1 of iTunes has solved some compatibility issues with Windows Vista, and is recommended for use with most versions of Microsoft operating systems.
Apple warns that iTunes is not supported on 64-bit versions of Vista, and that "there are still some problems" about the compatibility of iTunes that the company is seeking to partner with Microsoft to resolve.
There are still some iTunes compatibility errors such as:
+ Push (disconnect) the iPod from Windows Explorer or use the "Safely Remove Hardware" feature that can damage the iPod. Apple recommends that users push iPod from the Control menu of iTunes. Microsoft is studying this fix.
+ iTunes may not display graphics or text on the screen properly. Apple recommends that users adjust the screen size.
+ Contact Groups in Windows Contacts does not sync with iPod.
