Japan expanded because the land protruded from the sea in the night
The area of Japan was expanded after a strip of land more than 300 meters protruded after just one night and attached to the coastline of the country.
The area of Japan is expanded
In Rausu town of Hokkaido island, Japan, the strip of land over 300 m has just risen out of the water about 15 m, revealing the former part of the seabed . This strip of land appeared after only one night and there was no sign of moving rocks, according to the Hokkaido Shimbun.

Residents on the island are concerned that this is a sign of mysterious geological phenomena, accompanied by earthquakes and tsunamis, like the magnitude 9 earthquake that happened in March 2011.
However, geologists believe that this phenomenon is the result of landslides in nearby areas because melting ice and snow weakens the slope.
Local authorities have not yet determined when the landslide process will reach the coastline covered by snow, but they do not expect that this phenomenon will spread further, an official of the Department of Regional Development Hokkaido area said.
Rausu is not the only place in Japan to be expanded. An island in 2013 also rose above the sea about 1,000 kilometers south of Tokyo and is continuing to grow as volcanoes in the center of the island erupt.
