Kjørbo is in fact two buildings with a total area of 2600m 2 located near the coast of Sandvika in Bærum city. The energy consumption of the project before being recreated is 650,000kWh per year. After being renewed, the energy required for the operation of the two buildings is expected to be reduced to about 100,000kWh per year.

Energy is produced by solar panels and it is estimated that the battery system will generate over 200,000kWh of electricity each year. Meanwhile, heat loss is minimized by the design of the ceiling, walls and windows that fit snugly together with the insulation. Exterior shading and raised concrete floors are also factors that help reduce summer temperatures.
