Lam Dong: Testing cold water salmon farming
Lam Dong is the second locality (after Sa Pa) selected by the Aquaculture Institute to implement a pilot program for cold water salmon - a food with high nutritional and economic value.
20 thousand salmon breeds imported from Finland were tested on an area of 1 ha in Da Chay commune (Lac Duong). The lake is covered with tarpaulin to protect the sun and regulate temperature, with an automatic spray system to ensure sufficient oxygen .
After more than 4 months, salmon developed quite well, averaging over 100 g / head.
