Landslides in Nepal, at least 41 people died
At least 41 people were killed in landslides caused by heavy rains in northeastern Nepal mountains today.

According to PTI, landslides occurred in Taplejung district, 500 km from Kathmandu .
Rescue has found 12 victims, next to 8 others injured. The number of casualties may increase when at least 24 people are still missing.
6 villages were buried, while traffic on the Mechi highway was interrupted.
Nepalese military and police have been deployed, however, continuous rain and flash floods are hampering their rescue efforts.
Landslides often occur in the mountains of Nepal during the rainy season. The country in the Himalayan region has not recovered after two strong earthquakes and hundreds of aftershocks caused nearly 9,000 deaths in late April.
Two mild aftershocks with a magnitude of 4.6 and 4.1 on the Richter scale were also recorded in Nepal today.
