Large firms are ready for 45-nm design technology
IBM, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing, Infineon Technologies and Samsung Electronics announced on August 29 that it is ready for 45nm technology, with chips and platforms designed for this low-power consumption technology.
According to the companies, the initial characteristic of key design elements is silicon, combined with previous design templates to provide developers with a coherent start to technology. Latest processor (45-nm).
The first 45-nm circuit board, for next-generation communications systems, has been proven to work perfectly when built at IBM's 300-mm line.
The companies also said the 45-nm technology line will be installed at IBM, Samsung, and Chartered factories by the end of next year.
