Large rare birds found in Quang Tri

A group of people in Quang Tri has captured a large-sized bird, which according to animal experts is the sea urchin.

The bird was found by Dang Xuan Khuong and Nguyen Ngoc Trai at the end of last month in the sandy area of ​​Phuong Lang village, Hai Ba commune, Hai Lang district, according to the Capital Security.

When he saw the bird, Khuong used a slingshot to shoot down. The bird has a large shape, about 80cm long, wingspan is over 1m, sharp beaks, yellow legs are about 20cm high, body hair is light brown and speckled white and weighing over 2kg.

The bird was then locked in an iron cage, its tongue was injured and bleeding. Local people said they had never met such a species.

Talking to the PV, Professor Vo Quy, an animal expert, said that based on the available information, it is the sea urchin, the scientific name Pandion heliatus. This species is distributed throughout North America, Europe, northern Asia and Africa. The sea mainly eats fish. In the winter, they migrate south, and can be found in South America, Africa, India, Myanmar, Indochina, and Indonesia.

In Vietnam in winter, this species can be present on rivers, fields, large ponds and lakes, but they rarely appear.
