Life in the deepest trench of the ocean

Biologists have just discovered a new species of fish in one of the world's deepest ocean trenches, where everyone previously thought that there could be no fish.

According to the BBC , these biologists have taken many pictures of the new fish - a slow moving species - in the Peruvian groove-Chile, located in the southeastern Pacific Ocean. This trench is more than 8,000m deep.

Dr. Alan Jamieson - of the University of Aberdeen (UK), who led the study, said his group also took pictures of a group of eels at a depth of 6,000 meters, something they have never seen before, and this is very can be a new species of eel. There are also many crustaceans and scavengers.

Jamieson's group is still opening ocean-floor expeditions on a global scale in a three-year project.
