A fish with a strange appearance resembling the ghost recorded in the deepest ocean trench of the world in the Pacific Ocean Mariana.

According to the Huffington Post, a 10cm, almost transparent, ghostly fish appears in the image of a camera at a depth of 2.4km in the world's deepest ocean trench , Mariana , in the western Pacific Ocean. .

Okeanos Explorer, the ship of the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), filmed the fish through one of the underwater remote control vehicles. Researchers upload videos on YouTube on July 1.

"I am sure the fish belongs to the Aphyonid family . This is the first time a fish of this family was caught while alive," said Bruce Mundy, a fisherman at the US National Fisheries Service (NOAA).

Mundy said the Aphyonidae family of Ophidiiformes includes creatures like Cusk eel. Previous scientists only discovered their corpses after being brought to the surface by deep-sea fishing vessels or mud dredgers.

The research team on Okeanos Explorer is conducting deep-water surveys at the Mariana Trench Marine Reserve and several northern Mariana Islands. The expedition lasted until July 10.

The aim of the scientists is to understand the habitat of fish, mud volcanoes, mountains between the ocean, coral and sponges in the depths, thereby having a clearer view of the harsh life in the ditch. The world's deepest ocean.
