Lying heated the nose

Lies won't make your nose grow like a Pinocchio, but will actually warm up your olfactory organ, according to a new study by Spanish scientists.

By using thermal imaging cameras for volunteers, two scientists, Emilio Gómez Milán and Elvira Salazar López, came from the University of Granada (Spain) to discover the temperature of the nose as well as the eye socket ( inside the human eye) changes according to their mood. According to the study authors, an increase in anxiety caused by lying causes a significant increase in the temperature at the tip of the "host".

Your nose is not long, but it is hot when lying.

The two Milán and López scientists call it "Pinocchio effect" , to remind an Italian 19th-century fairy tale about Pinocchio's wooden boy, every time he lies, his nose grows longer.

The Daily Mail page cited researchers to explain, this phenomenon is because the brain region called the insular cortex is changed when the subject lies about his emotions. The cerebral lobes are involved in the detection and regulation of body temperature, so there is a strong correlation between the activity of this structure and the degree of heat change of organs in the body.

Two scientists, Milán and López, added that thermal imaging techniques can also help detect stimulation and sexual desire in both men and women. This phenomenon is characterized by an increase in the temperature of the object's breasts and sexual organs.

Thermal imaging techniques also provide researchers with a way to identify the differences of different dances."When someone dances the Flamenco, the temperature in their buttocks drops but increases in the forearm. Each dance has a sign of identifying its own temperature," cites research by Milán and López.
