Male chimpanzees like 'old girls'

Unlike humans, male chimpanzees have a special preference for older girls. Among a bunch of " female beauties ", male chimpanzees always choose the oldest one to mate.
(Photo: LiveScience) Anthropologist Martin Muller at Boston University, USA, drew this conclusion after eight years of observing chimpanzees at Kibale National Park in Uganda.
He said that in humans, men's preferences for young women stem from a tendency to form long-term relationships. Because women's fertility is limited by age, men always see younger girls more attractive.
Meanwhile, chimpanzees are not like human beings, do not form sustainable relationships but have more common relationships. In addition, female chimpanzees show no signs of menopause, so male chimpanzees do not bother about the age of their partners like humans.
Chimpanzees reach sexual maturity at 10 years of age, clearly shown in the bulging area with flaming pink color. During the estrus period, it swelled markedly, causing the guys to feel excited. The males will master the game, mating consecutively with 5-6 partners willing to line up to wait for their turn.
But the surprising thing is that males always approach the older girl for mating. Older children are also frequently sexually assisted by males with high status and easily cause conflicts between men in the act of flirting.
Scientists think that older chimpanzees may be in a higher position, making it easier to access food sources, so the chances of conception are higher. In addition, when the chimpanzees get older, their energies show persistent endurance to life and thus create healthier children. Similarly, older chimpanzees have more experience raising children. All of those points became attractive for the guys.
