The story goes that Lelawala is the most beautiful girl in the Ongiara clan living in Niagara Falls. One day, suddenly the people of the tribe died gradually without a clear cause. Many people believe that it is due to the anger of the gods pouring on the fate of the tribe.

To ease this rage, the Ongiara people chose Lelawala as a virgin to sacrifice to the supreme ones . The ceremony was performed by letting Lelawala sit on a canoe along the Niagara Falls.

But strangely, Lelawala was not killed by the flow of water. The girl was rescued by the thunder god Hinum. God also taught her how to defeat the giant snake monster that lives under the falls , the cause of the tribal people's death. Lelawala returned to his village, giving people the message of Hinum.

The warriors in the tribe then followed her instructions to defeat the ferocious monster. The giant snake finally retreated to the lair, squeezing its body to the sides of the waterfall . Later, it was there that formed the Horseshoe Falls - one of the three Niagara Falls.

2. The summit of the Devil - where Satan loses to humans

' Devil's Peak' is one of the most famous pyramidal mountains in the world, located in Cape Town, South Africa.

Formerly, it was said that there was a drug addict pirate named Jan van Hunks who settled in Cape Town in the early eighteenth century.

Abandoning his plunder, Hunks married and lived in a house at the foot of the mountain. However, Hunks's wife hated her husband's smoking habits and would chase Hunks out of the house whenever he lit up.

The rolling clouds on the top of the mountain are typical of Devil's Peak

Therefore, when smoking, Hunks climbed the top of the mountain and found a convenient place. But one day, Hunks came to a familiar place when he encountered a mysterious man sitting. His whole body was dressed in black and wore a veiled hat. Don't let Hunks speak, the stranger greeted, called out and invited him to talk.

When mentioning smoking, Hunks immediately boasted about the amount of tobacco he could smoke. The stranger said that he could easily defeat Hunks. The two agreed to hold a contest to see who could smoke the most drugs. The competition created a huge cloud of smoke that enveloped the two men and the top of the mountain.

In the end, the stranger had to give up. However, when he took off his hat, Hunks felt terrified when he was in the presence of Satan. Angry at defeat at the hands of a mortal, Satan's demons forced Hunks to go while a lightning strike struck.

Since then, every time the fog rolls over Devil's Peak, everyone has a story that Hunks and the demon are holding a smoking contest on the top of the mountain.

3. Etna volcano - the anger of a hundred-headed monster

Volcano Etna is located on the east coast of Sicily, Italy. This is one of the most active volcanoes in Europe.

Etna's first eruption was recorded in 1500 BC. After that, the mountain erupted at least 200 more times. In particular, the 4-month eruption in 1669 caused volcanic lava to cover 12 villages, destroying many buildings around.

So how did the ancient people explain this story? In Greek mythology, the culprit that creates fire in Devil's Peak is Typhon's hundred-headed monster - the son of Gaia - the goddess of Mother Earth.

This creature has an immense power and every plot to overthrow the gods at Olympia.

As a result, a fierce battle took place where the supreme Zeus defeated Typhon. God decided to detain Typhon at the feet of Etna.

According to the explanation of scientists, the stone columns here were formed about 50-60 million years ago by volcanic eruptions . However, the local people believe in a separate legend to explain this.

Once upon a time, there was the Irish giant named Finn McCool. He had a long-standing enthusiasm for another giant, Benandonner, in Scotland. One day, two giants stood on either side of the beach and argued vehemently.

McCool was so angry that he grabbed a handful of land and threw it at Benandonner. However, grasping the land fell on the sea and created Man Island . And McCool grabbed the sunken land and formed Lake Neagh.

The feud between the two giants increased and McCool decided to build a road across the sea so that the two giants could meet because Benandonner could not swim. That way, the two sides want to compare who is the bigger one.

After finishing the road, McCool was too tired to go home and fell asleep. Meanwhile, the Scottish giant has crossed the road and moved to Ireland. Hearing Benandonner's footsteps, McCool's wife realized that the Scottish giant was much bigger than her husband.

Therefore, she devised a plan. McCool's wife wrapped a blanket around her husband, earning a big baby hat that could be put on his head.

When Benandonner came to the door and screamed at McCool, the wife opened the door and told her not to make a noise, so the child woke up.

Seeing the 'big' size of the McCool baby, Benandonner was ' sloppy' and no longer brave enough to match the size of his father.

He quickly ran home and destroyed the sea path to ensure that no one could chase after him. But to this day, part of the road built by McCool is still in Northern Ireland.
