McAfee introduces new security products
It is expected that in September, McAfee will launch a new security software (codenamed 'Falcon') to compete with Symantec and Microsoft products.
Falcon integrates the features of McAfee's existing security product line with an improved, manageable user interface. McAfee said it will soon release Falcon after announcing its recent entry into Microsoft's security market.
According to McAfee, Falcon will help PC fight spam, viruses, spyware and other threats such as phishing and rootkits. The software also has features to help prevent data loss, optimize PC performance and protect wireless networks. This is the first package released this summer by McAfee.
Like Microsoft and Symantec, McAfee is promoting Falcon as an easy-to-use security product. This product will be sold as a service, and users will pay for long-term payments, just like the sales method of Windows Live OneCare (Microsoft) and Genesis (Symantec).
The security software market is being "heated" by the arrival of Microsoft with plans to launch a OneCare security service package next month for $ 49.95 / year. OneCare will help protect 3 PCs at the same time to prevent viruses, spyware and other threats. It is known that OneCare was introduced by Microsoft in May 2005.
Currently, both Symantec and McAfee have not announced pricing for these new products. Expected, Falcon will be announced by McAfee in September.
