Measure the time on strange planet

For the first time, Earth experts accurately measured the rotation speed of an exoplanet, thus knowing the time of day and night on this planet.

Beta Pictoris b is the first planet outside the solar system to be measured day / night, whereby it takes only 8 hours to rotate around the axis at a rate of 99,779km / h, far more than any planet in the solar system.

For ease of comparison, Jupiter has a rotation speed of 46,670km / hour, while the Earth's equator only stops at 1,706km / hour.

Space.com quoted Remco de Kok, an astronomer at Leiden Observatory (Netherlands), adding Beta Pictoris b is a 10-fold planetary planet of Jupiter, belonging to the Pictoris Beta system from Earth. about 63 light years.

This is the star system of the constellation constellation, which can be seen with the naked eye in the south of the sky.

Experts drew conclusions about the planet's day / night length thanks to data provided by the Large Telescope of the Southern European Observatory.
