Inhalation is caused by inhalation of droplets of respiratory secretions containing pathogens, which occur in winter-spring. Everyone is at risk. The age group at high risk of infection is children under 5 years old, adolescents 14-20 years old, immunocompromised people .

The disease occurs suddenly with symptoms of high fever, severe headache, vomiting, stiff neck, fatigue, may have sore throat, dotted or hemorrhagic plaques, stellar purpura or may have blisters. Patients often drowsy or lethargic. There are cases of sudden fatigue, hemorrhagic patches appear. To prevent encephalitis, meningitis caused by meningococcus, avoid spreading in the community, Department of Preventive Medicine, Ministry of Health advises people:

  1. Good personal hygiene, regular hand washing with soap, mouth rinsing and throat with normal nasal antiseptic solutions.
  2. Good hygiene at the place of residence, workplace, wearing a public mask.
  3. Actively vaccinate children with vaccines, vaccines are given at service vaccination facilities.
  4. When there is a high fever, headache, nausea and vomiting, stiff neck, it is necessary to go immediately to the medical facility for prompt examination and treatment.
