Causes, symptoms and ways to prevent meningococcal meningitis

In the past 5 years, there have been 610 cases of meningococcal meningitis, of which 25 have died. In 2015, there were 102 cases and 4 deaths.

In the community, the prevalence of bacteria carriers has no clinical symptoms (healthy carriers) in the nose, throat and throat 5-25%.The disease is transmitted through the respiratory tract, when casual contact with people will spread through saliva, respiratory secretions, coughing, sneezing. Meningococcal bacteria that enter the body will cause sore throat. For weak people, bacteria continue to spread into the blood throughout the body causing septicemia, meningitis. When meningococcal bacteria infection, incubation period of 2-10 days, usually 3-4 days .
