Microsoft announced two new server products
Microsoft has launched two beta versions (beta) the first server code named " Cougar " (upgrade version of Small Business Server) and " Centro " - integrated server package for small and medium enterprises.
Both products support 64-bit platforms and are expected to be completed around 2008.
Last month, Microsoft announced a select group of partners and OEMs to test " Cougar " - the next version of Small Business Server with most of the features based on the " Longhorn " version of the operating system. Windows Server owner (expected to be launched later this year).
Microsoft said that Courgar will integrate Windows Server, Exchange Server 2007, Windows SharePoint Services, ISA Server, SQL Server and System Center Essentials.
Meanwhile, Microsoft is also rushing to complete the mid-range server product which is highly rated, which is " Centro ". Last month, the software company announced Centro's beta version - an x64 solution that is considered capable of meeting the needs of medium-sized businesses.
The Centro will integrate Longhorn Windows Server, Exchange 2007, System Center Essentials, SQL Server 2006, ISA Server and other Microsoft Forefront security services.
Centro will provide unique features of Small Business Server (SBS), typically simple installation on a multi-server system.
