Mobile internet port WiMax application
Sprint Nextel said it will partner with Google to develop a new mobile internet portal that uses WiMax wireless technology to support web search and virtual networking.
WiMax high-speed wireless technology and Sprint's services in positioning will be combined with Google's tools, including e-mail, chat and other applications.
Not long ago, Sprint announced a plan to connect its high-speed WiMax services to Clearwire's similar services so customers can switch between the two networks.
Using Sprint's WiMax to improve its competitiveness with other wireless networks and broadband networks.
The company plans to install WiMax tests in Chicago, Washington and Baltimore later this year with the goal of targeting 100 million customers by the end of 2008.
WiMAX increases web access 5 times faster than conventional wireless networks, though it is still slower than a broadband network.
