Monster or just a deer?

New footage of Champ - the monster that is supposed to be hiding in Lake Champlain, Vermont - has just been announced recently. Claimed to have just been filmed a week ago in the early morning, a two-minute video shot with a phone has a silhouette of a certain object, possibly an animal moving toward the east bank.

This film has created a rumor that is far from among those interested in monsters, some claiming it is the clearest evidence for an existing creature since its 1977 photograph. Posters on the Internet has also propagated the tumultuous hypothesis of a creature that is supposed to be a Lake Champ monster, or a swimming animal, or just a piercing game.

Readers can watch the video here.

Video analysis

The video contains several clues to identify the creature. Its shape in the film resembles the back and head of a deer swimming. It moved near the eastern shore, swam through something that seemed to be a lifeline, indicating that the water level was quite shallow.

When analyzing videos like this, what we don't see is just as important as what we see. In the case of the movie, it ends when the animal approaches the shore.

It's strange that the end of the sequence in the movie is missing. Obviously, the filmmaker was attracted to this scene, so he took 2 minutes to record. He will not be able to naturally lose interest, stop spinning and walk away. The eyewitness can worry about his phone full of memory. That may be true, or he chose to edit the final seconds of the sequence, when all we could see was just a deer swimming near the shore. Although it was suspected that it was just a hoax, there were still many other unanswered questions about the scene.

It is also interesting to emphasize that the scene is not the same as the videos and pictures claimed to be about another Lake Champ monster. Many videos have a dark, circular shape in the water, but no movie is exactly the same as a large animal swimming. It is also strange that such an underwater creature has an obvious action to keep its head above the water. If the Lake Champ monster really exists and has to constantly float to the surface to breathe (like a dolphin or a whale), it is surprising that it is not often seen in the lake where it resides.

Lake monster impostor

The author of this article has experienced analyzing and exploring many similar similar static and dynamic images. Some pictures of lake and monster monsters are purely scams, such as the image of 'Borneo Monster' published earlier this year.

However, scenes or images of lake monsters are often the result of confusion or misidentification. When people see something they think is strange in the lake, they can assume it is a monster. As we see in this video, there are many things that are normal but also easy to be mistaken as monsters.

In fact, most of the famous photos of monsters in Lake Champlain were taken in 1977. They caused curiosity across the country in terms of organisms, and only a few years ago were considered the most obvious evidence. and Lake Champ monsters really exist. But the investigations and experiments conducted by the author and his partner Joe Nickell at Lake Champlain revealed that the monster was mostly a floating log or tree branch that quickly sank under the lake.

It seems that this or other picture of Lake Champ monster is only the result of confusing human natural phenomena (which include water waves, logs or animals). They thought it was monsters and the lake itself was actually the home of dozens of great mysterious creatures that never left any evidence of the existence of monsters.

The debate about the new video will still continue, believers are convinced that it is real and the doubts point out alternative explanations. What happens to videos like this is too poor quality to clearly define what is under water. Certainly, if the video is of better quality, mystery may no longer exist. Or it could be the long-awaited proof of Lake Champ monster - the monster that looks exactly like a deer swimming.
