Mount Fuji may collapse in an earthquake
Sankei newspaper of Japan on October 10 warns, Mount Fuji may be lying on top of an active fault that is capable of triggering a huge snowfall.

A hidden fault was discovered near the eastern leg of Japan's iconic mountain, in a study of underground faults by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. conducted in the past 3 years.

"A sudden earthquake will not allow people time to evacuate in time ," Sato said.
Calls for renovation of disaster prevention measures are increasing in Japan when the recently discovered fault is not included in the disaster map created by the government in 2004, according to The Korea Herald newspaper.
