Mozilla patched 20 critical vulnerabilities in Firefox and Thunderbird

Picture 1 of Mozilla patched 20 critical vulnerabilities in Firefox and Thunderbird Mozilla Corp. has just announced updates for Firefox and e-mail browsers Thunderbird to fix some serious security flaws in these open source applications.

The upgrade for Firefox includes 12 independent patches, released last weekend via automated mode. In addition, according to Mozilla, there are some pretty good patches that make this browser more stable.

Five of the browser-related vulnerabilities are serious, which could allow hackers to run illegal software on affected systems. Security firm Secunia classified these vulnerabilities as "highly serious" - the highest level of alert.

However, Mozilla also said that in order to successfully take advantage of the vulnerability, hackers still need to create additional exploit codes, and have to lure users to access the websites that have built the attack code.

Mozilla for the Thunderbird 8 patch e-mail program and all are highly serious.
