New fossil dinosaur species discovered
Sketches of small new dinosaurs, but fiercely attack larger dinosaurs.
A group of Brazilian archaeologists have found a fossil of a dinosaur that lived about 70 million years ago, in the Payropolis state of Minas Gerais, about 500 km south of Brazilian capital.
Archaeologist Souza Carvalho said the initial research results allow scientists to claim that this is a novel dinosaur, unknown not only in South America but anywhere in the world.
This dinosaur has a body longer than 2m, weighs about 80kg, its claw is 5.5cm long and has a completely different curvature compared to the dinosaurs discovered so far.
According to Carvalho, dinosaurs are small in size, but very aggressive and capable of killing other large carnivorous dinosaurs. It is possible that this is a transitional dinosaur between reptiles and birds.
However, in order to conclude precisely about this new dinosaur, researchers need more time and more archaeological artifacts.
