New step in artificial pancreas
The success of an artificial pancreas test promises to free diabetics from the need to regularly check blood glucose levels.
For the first time, the artificial pancreas successfully passed a home test.
This device controls blood glucose levels and uses an infrared data connection to transfer information to an insulin pump attached to the patient's body, thereby regulating insulin levels according to the body's needs.

Previously, it was tested in hospitals, but in a promising development, 5 patients in England with type 1 diabetes successfully used it at home.
With artificial pancreas manufactured by Cambridge University, thousands of patients will avoid the prospect of limb, kidney failure, eye failure, stroke and premature death due to complications from type 1 diabetes.
By the end of this year, there will be 24 more people participating in the home test.
According to Independent, they will use artificial pancreas at night for 4 weeks, while pursuing conventional therapy in 4 weeks.
It is expected to take a few more years before the artificial pancreas is ready to hit the market.
