Next year, there will be a new version of Palm OS
Palm CEO Ed Colligan said the new version of Palm mobile operating system is still in development. At least until the end of next year, this version can launch the market.
Analysts said the information was the most authentic evidence to prove Palm's hardship over time. The first quarter of this year was the first year Palm suffered heavy losses in the last four years.
Palm pursues the development of a new version of the mobile operating system that aims to expand and expand the development of new business on PDA platform. However, the arrival of the cheap Palm Foleo last month has led analysts to suspect that Palm will probably not pursue the strategy.
But the arrival of Foleo could also help the new version of Palm OS launch sooner. Experts from Palm are currently redirecting Palm OS development. The manufacturer confirmed that the development is still going according to the roadmap.
In a conference with recent investors, Colligan executives affirmed that its goal is to promote the launch of the new Palm OS version. Foleo is just a test product of another direction.
But at least until the end of next year, the new version of Palm OS will hit the market. Perhaps at the time, Palm OS, though new, was also outdated because other companies like Microsoft, RIM and Apple are also constantly developing new mobile operating system platforms.
