Members of the committee selected 198 people, including 36 previously nominated writers, and gradually narrowed the list to five in the past summer.
And just as Mr. Peter Englund writes on the website of the Nobel Prize, 'it is not difficult to find worthy candidates. There are so many people, the world is so big . The hardest part is picking out who is worthy of receiving the prize '.
Mr. Englund also admitted: 'I have never seen an award where everyone agrees completely. If so, that is a strange thing. '
