North Korea shot the missile test
Yesterday morning (May 25), Pyongyang fired several surface-to-surface missiles toward the Japanese sea, the media reported. However, the Ministry of Defense and Foreign Affairs of Japan cannot confirm the above information.
NHK cited sources in the Japanese and US governments, saying that the missiles come from the eastern and western coastal areas of the Korean peninsula. Local officials are investigating further, including finding out how many missiles have been fired. According to NHK, these missiles are not Pyong's famous Rodong or Taepodong-I.
NTV TV channel commented that the test might be in response to South Korea's launch of interceptor missiles, equipped with technology to detect Aegis. Korean officials are seeking to verify the information. The Ministry of Defense did not comment. However, news agency Yonhap cited anonymity in the military as saying the South Korean government has confirmed a missile test and is determining its type and quantity.
North Korea's nuclear and missile development program has always been a concern of regional countries. The country tried a number of missiles last July, including long-range Taepodong-2 missiles, which could fire to the United States. Pyongyang makes the whole world seize again in October of last year with its first nuclear test.
