Opening of the solar powered car competition
On October 24, the first 'Solar Car' competition in Vietnam opened in Ho Chi Minh City.
The competition attracted 42 teams from universities and enterprises in five participating provinces, including Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Khanh Hoa and Vinh Long.
In 42 teams, 17 teams are students of universities and 25 teams represent businesses and research institutes.
Mr. Le Hoai Quoc, Head of the Hi-tech Park Management Board, Head of the Competition Organizing Committee said, 42 teams will be divided into nine boards, round matches and three rounds of qualifying rounds, group stage and final round . Competition period lasts from 24 / 10-1 / 12/2011. The racetrack of the 1.5km qualifier belongs to the internal road of the High-Tech Park.
Mr. Huynh Kim Tuoc, Director of the Energy Saving Center (ECC) of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the competition aims to create community interest in energy application and promote training, research and Solar applications of research, training, business and community units.
Besides, the competition also facilitates individuals, organizations passionate about designing and applying solar energy with a useful playground and application of their knowledge.
It is expected that the winning team will represent Vietnam to participate in the world solar powered car tournament, held in Australia in 2012.
The competition was organized by the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City in cooperation with the High-Tech Zone, City Television and sponsored by the Embassy of Denmark and Red Solar Joint Stock Company. fees and techniques.
