Opening the National Amateur Youth Informatics Contest 2006

On the evening of August 2, the opening ceremony of the 12th National Amateur Youth Informatics Contest was held at Nha Trang Fisheries University in Khanh Hoa province. Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Vu Duc Dam - Deputy Minister of Posts and Telematics, Bui Dang Dung, Secretary of the Central Union - Head of the Competition Organizing Committee and all 186 candidates. The typical faces in the unprofessional young informatics movement from primary, secondary and high schools of 53 provinces and branches of the country.

Besides the units that regularly participate, this year's competition welcomes 4 units for the first time including Lao Cai, Dien Bien, Tuyen Quang and Dac Nong.

The new feature of this year's competition is that the contest of more creative software is included, but the candidates do not join the team to participate in the general contest, so the number of software participating in the first round competition is the most so far. After qualifying for pre-qualification in localities, the Examination Council has selected 20 best creative software of 20 candidates to take the final exam. However, before the opening of the national contest, two contestants of Lang Son Group gave up so there will be only 18 contestants competing in the final round of creative software. This year's security and examinations are also very concerned by the Organizing Committee. All tests and creative software will be marked on the computer.

In order to encourage young people to actively learn information technology, create a wide range of computer literacy movement in children and children, since 1995, the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Post - Telecommunications cooperates with Vietnam Informatics Association to organize the annual amateur youth informatics exam nationwide. This 12th exam will continue to be a place for students to compete and exchange experiences, and at the same time be an opportunity for organizers, levels and branches to review, study and propose policies and solutions to enhance training and fostering and promote the country's young talents in the field of informatics.
