Pacific Ocean with 'plastic garbage sea'

Old toothbrushes, sea toys and even used condoms are a huge amount of waste floating in the central Pacific region.

The amount of garbage derived from plastic that is the same size as the US state of Texas can threaten the lives of many marine species if they are unfortunately caught here.

That is the research result entitled " Plastic waste in the world's oceans " by the Greenpeace (Greenpeace) environmental protection organization.

80% of all land-based garbage and the remaining 20% from the sea are divided into four sources: from tourism, sewer systems leading to the sea, from fishing and garbage activities from the boats. There are at least 267 species including seabirds, turtles, seals, sea lions, whales and other fish that inadvertently ingest pieces of trash or get caught in this landfill.

The report was released just days after Science published a forecast that some types of fish and seafood resources would be depleted by 2048 if the trend of overfishing and environmental pollution continues. out.
