Panda Antivirus 2008 Beta what's new?

Perhaps there is no need to say much about Panda Antivirus (PAV), an anti-virus and anti-spyware software that is so popular all over the world. Currently, Panda Software has released the 2008 beta version for users to try for free. You can download PAV 2008 here (30.45MB).

Since this is an improved version of PAV, this article only mentions the new features of the 2008 beta version. Most new versions retain what the old version offers to prevent viruses for your computer.

* Detection of invalid characters : when you type User name and password in the Update / Update Settings section and click the Check details button, the PAV will check first to see if you mistyped invalid characters (such as *, /,, .) or not.

If yes, the message Invalid characters will appear, you need to re-enter the User name and password. After the User name and password are both valid, they will be sent to login.

* Improved algorithm to improve operational efficiency and less system memory. This is the problem Symanec is having and the PAV has been resolved completely.

* HTTP resident : scan websites before downloading to your computer, making it safer for you to download the entire Website for viewing.

* Windows Mail scanning : Scan Windows Mail email. This feature is only compatible in Windows Vista.

* Add Settings / Warning Settings : In this section, you can configure to receive alerts when a certain situation occurs. Just check the events (events) in the list, a popup window of the PAV will appear to let you know that the event (which you have selected) is happening.

To set this popup window, click the Settings button below. Another page opens, you can adjust the duration (the time the popup window appears on the screen) and transparency (its transparency).

The above are the new features of PAV 2008. In addition, it has some other changes to the interface but because they are not important, they are not mentioned in this article. And one more thing is that this is just a beta version, hopefully the official version will have even more remarkable improvements to help protect our computers better and better.
