Russian security expert Kaspersky has just released the latest survey results done in Paris. According to Kaspersky, Paris not only has a larger Wifi network than London, CeBit (Hanovre, Germany), Beijing (China) but also has the best security.

The study repeatedly confirmed the surprise for the Wi-Fi network in Paris after criticizing the majority of the world's major cities for technology delays and the weakness in security.

The survey was carried out within 4 days (November 22-25, 2006) throughout Paris and La Défense area (a complex of buildings west of Paris with headquarters of many large corporations), right on the occasion took place in InfoSecurity 2006 security exhibition. In the area of ​​La Défense, Mr. Kaspersky counted more than 400 Wi-Fi hotspots compared to over 500 points in Paris areas. According to the expert, this is a record number, at least compared to all of his previous studies.

According to his Kaspersky data, 54 Mb network accounts for the majority in Paris with 77% in La Défense region, 85% in the rest of Paris and an average of 82%, higher than CeBit (51%) ), China (36%) and London (68%).
