Patients with breast cancer can avoid metastatic

A new medical scanning technology can help doctors predict the emergence of breast cancer metastasis soon. This means that many patients will be saved by preventing early metastasis.

Usually, breast cancer is relatively easy to treat because it only requires surgical removal and chemotherapy and radiation therapy. However, the disease will be much more dangerous and difficult to treat if the cancer spreads, spreads to another part of the body, according to the Daily Mail.

Most metastatic patients will die from a secondary cancer tumor . In the case of breast cancer, secondary tumors often appear in the lungs, liver and bones.

Scientists at King London University (UK) have invented a new medical scanning technology that can help detect early metastasis before they even appear. From there, doctors can intervene to metastasize not appear.

The team found a special type of immune cell called MDSC . They will begin to accumulate at high levels in the lungs before cancer spreads. These cells inhibit the immune system's activity in that area and stimulate new blood formation, clearing the way for cancer cells to spread from the breast to the lungs.

Since then, scientists have used a type of radioactive molecule to detect MDSC cells. These molecules are injected into patients. They will stick to MDSC, so they will be visible on 3D scanners with gamma rays.

Experiments have been successfully tested on mice. Currently, scientists are looking for ways to deploy on humans.

'Although more research is needed before it can be applied to humans, the prospect of hospitals anticipating metastatic cancer from the breast to the lungs is extremely interesting , ' said Baroness Morgan director of Breast Cancer Now, a non-profit organization for cancer patients in the UK, told the Daily Mail.
