People in the future will be flying in plastic planes, Boeing's chief executive said.

According to director Alan Mulally, the entire 737 aircraft will be made from nonmetal or composite material (formed from a combination of two or more materials) because it is not corroded. These materials have been used in many products such as tennis racquet, bicycle spokes ...

There are millions of visitors on 737 aircraft a year. It is expected that the first plastic aircraft will have a departure next year. Mulally says composites are used to make 1/2 planes and will reduce the cost of fabrication and maintenance. Lighter composites are also expected to improve range and fuel efficiency.
