Professor S. Shyam Sundar, a film, video and media expert, conducted a value analysis of video games, as a "tool to stimulate positive social nature" .

"Video games are not just entertaining," Ms Sundar said. "We want to study how it can help learning and education."

Professor Sundar asked 98 students to try out Dance Dance Revolutions at various levels of difficulty.

After playing, the students will take a test on creativity.

In addition, the player's skin color is also monitored and recorded. They also have to answer the question: "Is my mood" positive "or" negative "after playing the game?" .

"We observe both aspects of emotions: the surface and the surface," Ms Sundar explained.

Positive impact

The results show: Students with "positive" mental states , or in other words excited, often come up with new ideas to solve problems.

They are also the ones who get the highest score on the creative test.

"When you are excited, your body's energy itself is a great brain stimulant. The happy mood encourages creative activity," concludes Ms. Sundar.

Last month, a similar US study also denied the link between real violence and "bloody" action games .

According to psychologists, violent games only make the player's brain excited, not urging him to "play out " with action.

Some light entertainment video games, such as the Nintendo Wii titles, even help players relax, refresh and improve their health.

Not to mention, many fitness centers in the US also use video game therapy to combat obesity.
