Chinese scientists have developed a technology to produce electricity from the British small grass, an alien plant that is invading the country's ecosystem.

Technology was developed by researchers from Shandong University and other institutes, led by the Ministry of Education's Technology and Science Development Center.

Accordingly, the new anaerobic technology will turn the hydrogen and carbon elements in this grass into a flammable gas. After removing impurities, this gas can be used for cooking or operating power plants and heating.

Vietnam is also facing the threat of ecological imbalance for many exotic plants, such as mimosa, water hyacinth .

The small grass of England was introduced to China in the 1970s as an agent to bind coastal land. However, it has become an ecological threat after bluff growth. More than 100 seeds in China are at risk of ecological imbalance by this exotic grass.

Experiments show that every 1 kg of small grass can produce 2 cubic meters of burning gas, generating 1 kwh of electricity. If all 3 million hectares of this grass are processed, China will get 50-75 billion kwh of electricity.
