According to the Guardian , a solar-powered project run by Toyota in Derbyshire costs a total of £ 10m after passing through the local government. The company has begun installing 17,000 photovoltaic panels on 90,000 square meters of land in the plant area. According to calculations, this system is capable of providing enough energy to produce about 7,000 cars while reducing 2,000 tons of CO 2 emissions each year.
It is the first UK-based automaker to install solar panels on a large scale and is part of Toyota's carbon reduction strategy.
" The use of solar energy helps reduce costs, reduce emissions and revolutionize energy production in UK businesses and businesses ," said John Kimber, is responsible for the installation of equipment and the funding of the project.
Estimation of the solar absorption system at the Debyshire plant will begin in July.
