Dr. Quynh Kieu said that among projects in Vietnam, Project Vietnam is promoting the " Breath for Children" program under the 'Newborn Care Initiative' project with the use of propaganda. Breathing device: ' A lot of babies are born with blocked airways due to sputum in the windpipe.

In addition, their lungs have not been able to breathe yet, so they are still stuck, so breathing aids are needed to help them ensure their lives . ' Mrs. Kieu said some common measures such as patting young people crying (for breathing) in some cases are ineffective and very easy to cause death. Currently, there are about 100 newborns suffocated every day in Vietnam, 90% of such cases can be saved if there is a breathing aid device. Or the fact that some doctors or relatives of children use their mouths directly to suck up sputum for children sometimes unknowingly transmits infectious pathogens to children without knowing it.

Mrs. Kieu said that each breathing apparatus worth about 100 USD, each can be used for 100 babies / year and can be used in 3-5 years. She also proposed that the Vietnamese Ministry of Health will put that very basic device into the list of equipment equipped at the base stations to help reduce the infant mortality rate - currently accounting for 51%. in the causes of death for children. During this trip of Project Vietnam group, the delegation will donate 750 breathing aids to localities.
