AlphaMicron - a company based in Kent, Ohio, USA - research and manufacture of eyeglasses discolored for nearly 13 years. Its glasses are fitted with ultra-thin liquid crystal display (LCD) and can bend to one side. As a result, they can change color according to environmental conditions , such as turning dark in the presence of strong light and becoming transparent when the user enters dark or shady areas, Fox News said.

As the intensity of light decreases, an electric current flows through the LCD screen, causing the crystals to align, leading to a change in glass color for a few seconds. If the intensity of light increases, the current flows through the LCD screen, causing the crystals to return to a non-aligned state.

Charles Ziervogel, director of research at the US Navy, said bullet-proof goggles are important to navy soldiers because their eyes are vulnerable to water, wind and dust. However, sunglasses to soothe the eyes in bright environments reduce the visibility of soldiers or pilots in dark environments. In contrast, transparent glass for soldiers to see more clearly in the shade makes the user's eyes vulnerable to glare in a strong light environment.

" We asked AlphaMicron to create three types of glasses: dark, light and amber. Users can replace lenses for up to 5 minutes , "Ziervogel said.

Roy Miller, director of sales and marketing for AlphaMicron, said the company only produced 30 super eyeglasses for the US Navy to test. All of them are made by hand. Once the testing process is completed, the company will consider the possibility of releasing them to the market.
