Nuclear Electronics Engineering Department - Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology has just launched the market for measuring and warning radiation. The device will alarm when the radiation level in the surrounding air exceeds the permitted level.

Mr. Dang Quang Thieu - Head of Department of Nuclear Electronics - Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology said that this radioactive measuring and warning machine is used for both civil and industrial forms. For civil users, it is possible to use machines in high radioactive residential areas to monitor and warn if the radiation background of the environment exceeds the permitted level. This allows users to know and stay away from the danger zone due to high radiation.

In industry, this type of radiometer is placed in the research room or area, the office should be controlled radioactivity.

When the radioactivity font exceeds the threshold, the device will warn by emitting warning sounds and flashing alarm lights. Machine users can set the required radiation threshold according to their needs for automatic measurement and warning.

In addition, it is possible to connect the network (wired or wireless network) between the radiometer and the computer at the Center so that the manager can observe and monitor multiple radioactive sources at the same time.

Radioactivity meter manufactured by the Institute of Science and Technology Nuclear research and manufacturing with the size of 25 x 15 x 5cm is very small, compact, bigger than a brick built and only weighs 1,700 grams.

The device is used with alternating current 220V or 15V DC (via adapter) and includes transducer accessories, LED lights, communication ports to connect the computer.

The price of this measuring device and radiation warning is VND 5 million, which is cheaper than similar radiometers manufactured by foreign countries and sold in Vietnam (cost about USD 500, equivalent to VND 8 million).

Mr. Dang Quang Thieu also said that after the Nuclear Electronics Engineering Department completed the measuring machine, the Nuclear Science and Technology Institute ordered production to equip all areas and regions. radioactive substances of the Institute.

Radiometer was displayed at Techmart Hanoi 2006 from 22 to 25-9. Readers interested in this product can contact the Nuclear Electronics Department - Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology, 5T-160 Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Cau Giay, Hanoi. Tel: (04) -7910316, ext. 107.
