A fisherman named Billings was lucky to catch an extremely rare 'ghost' lobster off the coast of Stonington, Maine, USA. According to scientists, the rate of catching 'ghost lobsters' is about 1/100 million. That means, the rate of encountering this crustacean in the world is lower than being struck by lightning.

According to the fisherman, because he saw that the lobster was small, he decided to drop it to the ocean.

This rare species of lobster is called "ghost lobster" or "albino lobster" (), because the genetic condition called leucism causes them to have no pigment in the shell. This lobster looks transparent, unlike other rare or precious yellow lobsters, albino lobster species will not turn red after boiling because of lack of pigments.

This is not the first time Mr. Billings is lucky to catch rare lobster species. In 2014, this fisherman accidentally caught a special blue lobster with a smaller size than his body size.
