Rare and precious lobsters are red in color as boiled in American restaurants

The strange lobster named Larry in a restaurant in New York, USA is red like being cooked, a color that is rarer than blue.

Fox News reported on August 22 that another red lobster is usually placed in a tank near the entrance to Burger & Lobster restaurants in New York, USA. The lobster is still alive and called Ruby.

Most lobsters are dark green, black or orange and only turn red when cooked, but Ruby is an exception. Danny Lee, the chef of the restaurant, said Ruby was delivered in a batch of lobsters with a total weight of 900kg.

"When sorting shrimp, we found a live lobster with the same color as being cooked , " Lee said.

When Lee raised this nearly 7-inch lobster, he suddenly clamped his finger, causing him to be injured and bandaged."You can see that the shrimp is angry when I touch it. This shows it's very healthy," Lee said.

According to Bob Bayer, director of the Lobster Research Institute at the University of Maine, USA, red lobsters like Ruby are even rarer than blue lobsters. The cause of such special color shrimp shells has not been clarified.

In the future, Ruby will be transferred to the Aquarium Center and Long Island Exhibition in Riverhead, New York, USA.
