Before rediscovering a rare frog, Eleutherodactylus corona , scientists estimate that this species has less than 10 mature individuals, living on the high cloud forest of Massif de la Hotte.
Eleutherodactylus frog species parapelates endemic to the Massif de la Hotte mountains, classified at extreme levels in the Red Book of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). It has jet-black eyes and two limbs with orange makeup. The last time scientists saw it was in 1996.
Eleutherodactylus frog dolomedes is extremely endangered, with a maximum body length of 21.6 mm, living at an altitude of about 1,120 m of Mount Massif de la Hotte.
Another species of endangered frog that also lives in Massif de la Hotte is E leutherodactylus amadeus . It is also known as the " Mozart frog " - named after Mozart's genius composer - by the University of Pennsylvania (Blair Hedges), who happened to rediscover the species by the cry Its sounding like music notes distilled .
